I fell in love with this designer's pieces - organic and beautiful. I especially love the wedding ring/band combinations. Visit their Etsy shop for more....

Today at Simply Elegant Home Designs we unveiled an awesome new house plan - The Willowbrook! Check it out and let us know what you think.
This house plan would be suitable for the shorelines of lakes, rivers and oceans; but would be equally at home in the country, or on a large wide lot with beautiful views! You can obtain more information on this fresh new country house plan at Simply Elegant Home Designs website by following: The Willowbrook

My Francophile self fell in love with this table as soon as I saw it. I was even more amazed when I read that it was a DIY project! I wouldn't have the patience to attempt it, but if you think you might, here's the link. I'd like it to just show up in my living room. :)

Steve Tyler is this area's local celebrity. He grew up here, met Joe Perry here, and one of the first things you're told when you move here is that "you might see Steve and Liv once in a while". I did meet him briefly a couple of times, and he was down to earth and friendly, quick to laugh. I worked with Joe Perry's mom for a while, and she loved to wear her Aerosmith leather jacket everywhere. At first I thought she was just a hip older lady into rock music, until someone informed me of the connection. Duh.
Anyway, I came across this clip of Steve and Oprah touring around the lake (just a few minutes from my house), and thought you might get a kick out of it. Love the car.

I remember the day I turned 18 (legal drinking age back in the day) quite well. The pint of Southern Comfort I was provided as a birthday gift led to a turn of events that my old friends will never let me forget. The day started out normal enough.......Oops - this is a blog about home design. Let me start over.
A few weeks ago I received a call from a wonderful couple in Alabama. Two years ago a tornado had ripped through their property and destroyed their lake home. Since then they have been working on a new home design. They had become pretty happy with the floor plans, but just could not get comfortable with the building exterior. They came to the conclusion they needed some design assistance, and asked if I could help. I said, "Absolutely!"
|The original lake front elevation. A good beginning but too tall for a two story house (main level and lower level). The elevation also needed a logical scheme for patterns, materials, etc.|
